It is crucial for high school teachers to establish transparent policies around AI usage in their classrooms. This need was determined through ongoing research on the latest advancements in AI for educational applications, and the ethical concerns that arise (Cardona, et. al, 2023).
This instructional sequence aims to be a dynamic experience for educators to learn–via hands-on practice, collaboration with colleagues, and AI models themselves–how to incorporate generative AI in their classrooms and teach students to use it responsibly. Through activities grounded in constructivist and connectivist learning theories, the workshop models a community of practice that educators can replicate within their own classrooms.
